Nick "Topsey" Turvy Saturday 4pm- 6pm Repeated Tuesday 4pm My break came whilst I was still in school. I had a friend who used to do school disco's and mobiles, and I used to help him. I eventually took over from him when his circumstances changed and he had to take a break. I started with Motown back in the day and then moved on to the Northern Soul scene. I would spend any spare money I had on buying records as well as traveling up and down the UK djing and clubbing. This included a lot of time in places like The Wigan Casino and Blackpool Mecca. I got my first break into radio about 20 years ago. My first station was a local station called BIR. This was followed by Classic Soul Radio and then Purerhythm radio ( were i am still on ) and vixen 101 FM. I am now settled with the Rare Groove Radio family playing the modern soul collective and still out every weekend as well as running a few Soul events. I have a monthly event which takes place on a Sunday called ease your mind, where we have special guests from all over the country come and play with us.
